Ulysses S. Grant's Home in Galena, Illinois - On August 18, 1865, the citizens of Galena celebrated the return of its Civil War hero General Ulysses S. Grant with a jubilant procession and by gifting him a beautiful home on Bouthillier Street as a token of their appreciation.
